Stuttgarten is a medium-large yellow onion at maturity, but can be picked early as a stem onion. As a green onion, Stuttgarten has a mild, smooth to slightly pungent flavor that make them ideal for sautéing, grilling and cooking. They’re also fantastic when sliced raw in salads or on sandwiches.
Storage: Place onions in a jar of water on your kitchen windowsill to keep for up to two weeks, as long as water is not allowed to become cloudy. Alternatively, cut the roots off and place in a sealed plastic bag along with a damp paper towel. Store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
